Global Engineering Workflow (GEW)
is a multi-application environment designed to improve
collaboration, communication, and productivity within
the process of Task management between the Lead
Design Center (GEPS) and the Follower Design Centers
(Global Engineering Service Providers).
It is aimed at addressing workflow digitization,
providing feedback to Global Engineering Service
Providers (GEPS), establishing a tool for performance
evaluation and producing Global Engineering Metrics.
GEW is web-based and is built on a modern, modular
IM/IT technology stack which uses e-Matrix as
the e-PDM and database foundation and WebMethods
as the enterprise-wide legacy application integration
(EAI) tool.
GEW is integrated with both Effort Tracking Tool,
which provides users with a common portal to track
applied effort for differing activities specified
by various ePDM Applications and TIMES Master
Scheduling System, which gives TIMES users the
value added wrapper of all of GEW’s functionality.
Global Engineering Metrics (GEM) provide increased
efficiency in evaluating GESP performance while
saving time in creating GEM packages for senior
management reviews. GEM queries data existing
in GEW and presents it in standard formats, currently
over sixty-three metrics.
